Katelyn is a new intern at Clinical Services. She attended Viterbo University in LaCrosse and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Development and Science. She also received licenses in elementary and middle school, special education, and English as a second language. She is currently studying to obtain her master’s degree in clinical mental health and counseling through an online program at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. She is passionate about working with children and to continue to develop her skills and knowledge while working here. She hopes to attain her degree in clinical mental health and counseling so that she can continue to be of service to children and their families in our community.

Katelyn pursued her passion to work with children and youth in the education field in Milwaukee, Japan, Colorado, Texas, and in Wisconsin Rapids. She has worked with a variety of ages, educating preschool aged children through high schoolers and ending her teaching career in Special Education. She currently works for Wood County in the Children’s Long-Term Support program by providing assistance and support to children and youth with disabilities and their families to achieve an inclusive, independent, and self-empowered life within their homes and communities. Katelyn is a firm believer in resilience and empowering individuals to navigate life’s challenges and achieve their personal goals and strives to create a safe and supportive environment where they can feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and emotions.
